New HVIRESS Release: I Am The Snake Queen

HVIRESS - my electronic project with Mishkin Fitzgerald - has a new album dropping soon and here is the first single.

I Am The Snake Queen is the latest single from our forthcoming album Bitchhouse, released via Give/Take Life records based out in LA. The song was inspired by a mushroom trip I had a few years ago, where I became The Snake Queen. It's also about "the seductive chaos of overconsumption, fast fashion, and the glittering debris of late-stage capitalism".

Shed my skin looking down on the scene 

Everyone, they got something to say to me 

There’s a demon for every deity

Say my name (start a fire) 

As they thunder the earth in a holy dance

Just a shadow appears in my looking glass

But I know what they need and I know how they feed 

Say my name 

Venom on the breeze 

Metamorphoses 

Taking what I please 

Do you know who I am? 

Fools are waiting for a sign while sand is slowly shifting through 

The hourglass of sifting time, in line for penance overdue

Their crime? Wasting the little they’ve got

The more they learn, the less they know 

The more they earn, the more they rot 

The more they sink to the dirt below

I’ll drain the sun and drink the stars

A dark eclipse inside my eye

A poison pyramid appears

In majesty endlessly rise
